Jiu Jitsu is more like a Judo type of martial art. However, the techniques are even tougher here. But as effective as the judo sometimes even stronger and hitting hard to opponent. Mark Plavcan of Madison JiuJitsu and Twisted Fitness shows a sneeky Arm Triangle from N/S set up from side control. Enjoy the video and his techniques.

Now we gonna work on a head and arm choke cross body position. A lot of times, you know we guys keep his arms down tucked in we trying to get into move his arm up. There is log of different ways, we can do that. And lot of times manipulating the face, you know, turning the face and the jaw, always brings up. And arm to push but you cant always rely on it. So what i would like to here is take my left hand right on the hip and then i am just dropped a kind of a heavy cross body, drop my body down.

I bring my left leg as close as to the shoulders flat, so now here what i am gonna do, is i am gonna take that knee and i am gonna slight up, so my keen comes underneath the shoulder. Now as i do that i am gonna make sure i keep that so i move up for this position and stay in the same position with my hand grabbing the hip for some control. Now i am gonna do some, rich my arm through and i am gonna gran my whole thigh, as deep as possible i can, so as i come through, i am reaching through and i am gonna grab, as far through as i can make sure this is tight.

Now this is the important part. If right here, by this gonna go like this and turn my hip he can drop and tuck his elbow underneath. So what i need to do, is as i got this trap here, and i am gonna change my hip position, as i set my hip through, tight to his body now. Lot of people get this position and they feel weird, or anything else. The important thing to remember is i am gonna bring my head down and i am gonna put on his hip, right here like this.

So my friend Steve and I am going to set up…I already have here right this…this situation I am always in a sort of a good position you see as a balance and I am kind of getting more balance. Now let us say I feel that I can get all the balance on his arms coming out of the torso. So as I come down and step I am going to put this here on my way and then I am going to keep my weight as I come down see how I stepped. Yes so when I am steeping is here but natural level average that when I lean like this. This is pressing him here and I can lean him down like that. You see that.

Let me do one more time slowly and show you something. What lot of people does when they do this drill is they get this and then lean you down and then cannot understand how to come mid-off the pressure. This is natural because you just trying to get balance and you have to remember you are trying to balance this guy.

It could also be a strike with a knife or even a push or grab.

It is extremely fast and simple, requires only one hand to do. As the strike comes in you deflect it down, raise your elbow, striking him on a jaw. Let’s take a look at, as the punch comes in you deflect it down, then is the momentum that carries the opponent forward, you just raise your elbow hit in the open throat, bring his neck back, continues with your counter clock wise swipe arm, which knocks on to the floor. You notice as the opponent comes you step to the aside, out of the line of attack. You push his hands down, strike in the throat, continue the sweep, and knock him to the ground. Here it is demonstrated with the knife. In this technique the attack in once again is a straight punch to the face. And is in previous technique, a response is the deflection of a strike and reversal of your opponent’s momentum which drops him to the ground.

Lets take a look in slow motion, you deflect the punch down, wrap your arm around, counter clock wise, drive his chin back and down. Again, deflect down; arm goes counter clock wise, push the chin out and down. Lest look from overhead, you see that you first begin to stepping out the line of attack. You deflect the strike down with your left hand, as you step off to your left. Then, your right arm circles, completely around counter clockwise. You push, forward and down his chin, as you step forward, and he drops. Once again, deflect, right hand goes counter clock wise in a large circle, push out and down on his chin, as you step forward. Let’s look from the reverse angle, to take a look at one extra pardon throw.

As you are coming steps forward, and you step pastern, your let hand goes back in the small of his back, as your right hand pushes forward on his chin. This completes the dramatic redirection of his momentum to drops him, quickly on a floor.

Good footwork makes for good self defense techniques. The main idea is very simple, just step aside and get out of the way of your attacker. This is nothing more than a simple stepped to one side than other.

The next step is that once you remove yourself, from the line of attack, you can easily redirect the strike, with the simple brush or touch of your hand. By doing this you have changed the angle of the attack, and rendered his weapon, hands and feet useless. Once you are out of the way, and have redirected this attack, you can easily move pass to attack. You then free to escape or further to control his striking by grabbing or moving by the side. By moving pass the attack now you are in position, where he no longer reach you and do any damage.

Thus it is you who now has all the control. Practice these simple moves and understand why they’re done. They form the basis of all good defenses.

However, being an ancient self defense art, martial art, are very easy to learn. But the thing is that, first you should understand the basics of this art. And that is the footwork. IF you have excellent footwork with powerful fighting stance you can easily defend yourself from attackers. This video will explain how to work out with footwork and why it is necessary.

Really this was very nice video on self defense. It clearly determines that your footwork should be strong and confident in order to defend your self from attackers. So you are thinking to join the martial art be sure to work harder with your footwork.

Also this hand here is placed up as a guard just in case an attacker successes to suffices to be on top of him throwing punches, he’s able to block or he’s even able to counterback by grabbing my leg and possibly taking me down to the ground. Also his head is up, off the ground.

He did not hit his head on the mat. Uuuh, his development neck muscles needed to, to able to be front. Very hard. So that’s another thing that you will begin to develop as you begin, as you’re being thrown. You’ll start developing strength in your neck to hold yourself up. Also mobility is very important. You notice his legs. One leg is spread out so that the impact is spread across his leg. This knee is up and his foot is planted. In other words, so that he had, he can have mobility. Has some way of moving it. So if he needed to, and the attacker not come in, he needs to skid himself back. He’s able to do that. Or, if he needs to flip over to the other side, I begin to move, he’s able to turn himself over.

This leg also is up. He can also throw a side kick to my leg so it’s a great defense. So lots things about the break fall. Very important. Takes a lot of practice to getting down to perfect. And that is your right and left side break fall.

We are gonna go over today through few break falls and throws using jujutsu.

Here we are gonna talk about the most important part of jujutsu that is the break fall and we are going to demonstrate for you a right left right break fall. Pretty much identical. It’s just switching sides and all thing. Aaah, so, he’s gonna go down into a right break fall. As you see, he’s here to throw himself down to the mat and, and he’s built himself out of that. You can start a little slower from a kneeling position. He kneels and rocks himself back into a, into a right fall. Now again, he goes down to a right fall and we’re gonna show you the different parts. You’ve have to pay attention too. Okay. Rise up. Going down slowly. No, no, from right here. Pay attention. He slapped out with his hand.

His hand is, is something that’s gonna help right into fall. But also keep in mind, if you’re falling on a mat, that’s okay. You’re falling down in the street, you definitely do not want to slap all the way out because you’re gonna injure your hand.
