Hi, here is another good video of Lee Carlson, former world champion in Point Fighting. This is a video about some sparring techniques used in Point Fighting. She is also going to show you some basic Point fighting technique including the basic Axe Kick. As she is a former world champion, her experience says this kick can easily makes your opponent to go down on hi or her knee. Lets watch the video.

Hello my name is Nicki Carlson Lee. I am here to work with you today on sparring technique, that had helped me in a way consistently. Okay, now I am gonna show you the basic form of my favorite technique which is an axe kick. First we gonna start of with kicking leg in a back, hold both of your hands up. The first part of my axe kick is the chamber, we gonna pull out your knee near the chest, straight forward, then shoot it straight out, its gonna like a front kick. And push the ball of your foot forward. When you throw axe kick, it drops straight down in front of your body.

So the first part of your chamber, pull high up you thigh, push it out and straight forward. Pull up to chest, out, straight forward and down. Up, out and down. You should pull back your knee to your chest, as the same thing the chambers are important.

Another effective pull kick is Pull round kick. Round kick, you can take it from your body first, so your feet together, hands up, chamber from the forward, get straight in to your target, and fire with your round kick, chamber pull and round kick. Straight from the target, then you can double it up, a back a little bit, throw a one round kick, the second will hit the bag,

The strike will be struck like so, like so, or in a pushing motion just like that.

Strike it either as a striking motion or like pushing motion. the knife hand strike is typically seen in the movies like James bond were the bond get the sort of karate chop. thats one way to attacking some more way snapping type motion. here another way of striking with that knife hand strike is more way pushing motion here. we do both of those and you want to practice both of those pushing and striking. Here focusing on the knife hand, we have different strikes. Mainly the best striking areas will be the throat we also have the groin area, which is a good striking area.

Groin area or a throat. Now coming in and a strike, boom, strike can hit the quarter artery, which goes to brain, can make it really dizzy or otherwise groin and i coming here. Now I am gonna use that pushing with that knife hand; its more kind of like this pushing like this. Pushing out here.

This is a thin twine so there fore you’re actually almost pretty much striking the board its little bit wrapped around twice and the twine is a rougher surface so now you’re conditioning the skin and also the burn of your hand when you strike. When you strike in this here you’re actually not trying to strike through it your actually just mainly just condition your hand and get use to striking and condition the skin of this. So you’re not going to strike through the board your actually going to strike to the surface to condition your hand.

The other person the person holding it for you they can absorb the shock thats why..a..because again your not trying to break anything but also you can take and nail one of these boards up to a wall or upto a tree and actually practice..on that about punching…a..because if some one’s holding it and you punch too hard you might accidentally break the board itself. So, that’s why being able to condition your hands is very important there is many different methods different styles of martial arts used different methods.

For instance they actually take a bucket full of sand and palm the sand or bucket full of small beeds and be able to push that finger to the beeds to for breaking board with the fingers so any different ways..a..

So first i will start out probably best way to start to use a marcoloiod board before actually break your quaran board.

In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.

Now, before we actually start breaking boards you also want to be able to condition your hands in order to break those boards…a..some people’s hand’s you know little bit more sensitive than others and i will see you your knuckles and everything else then you will be a little bit condition. Some guys who have been in the board breaking for a long time they definitely conditioned their hands and they have actually developed calcium deposits on top of their knuckles and that way the condition their hands in order to..to..a.. actually not being able to feel the board when they punch.

One way to start out is what we call a Macroloid board, its the board which has been wrapped in twine or rope so can actually just go hardware store and but some rope and..a..start wrapping around the board. Also keep inn mind that different types of rope will condition your hands a different ways.

Now that is pretty easy to do. because basically..mmm.. that is just a small target and the co hanger is pushed up against a bag.

So what I want to do now is..as I move the co hanger out of about half way.. what I want to make sure is that.. they also not hitting the outside of this co hanger like Nick was showing.. if you are too looping you are going to hit the outside of the co hanger. Ahhmm.. that is what we do not want. So now he is going to do in slow motion is that he is going to hit all three punches half way to the target.. He is gonna be still going to be on target by hitting halfway through this co hanger.

Okay..Nick..one- two-three.. okay see now we got all three punches going from through the co hanger right to the target. Try again in slow motion. Now that was nice straight punches. So Nick go ahead and try on the heavy bag. That’s great. Here we have one-two-three left right left all nice and tight.

All nice and long punches and we look at the hooks later on. Thank you.

I am going to teach you boxing lessons.. I taught students a left right left called a one-two-three. Ahhmm.. what I try to instill upon them is that as you throw your step in and throw your first punch..

Okay..you throwing your second punch you are turning your body and right hand doesn’t have to be hundred percent if have power, you merely turning your body so that the second left jab turn with your body and you can deliver much more powerful and left jab..mmm.. but what I also want is rather than big open wide looping punches we want to try to keep everything nice & tight okay. So that you are firing from the central of your shoulders and you are firing from the center of your body.

That way your punches are nice and tight. You are firing from cheek, you are firing from your chin everything is nice and tight. So what I like to do is… i have a co hanger what I tell individuals Nick you step over..mmm…

What I try to say is.. okay new students go ahead and kneel slowly and hit the dead center of the co-hanger on the target three times with left-right-left.

My next drills that we’re gonna do is gonna be for your kids. Now, this is like a secret weapon for all my fighters. Every fighter that I ever, uuh, coached during my school I’v worked this drill hundreds of times, okay, before a competition.

This drill, if you’re looking for balance about your legs, having control over your legs, this drill is one of the top drills to do. It’s one of my secrets that I have, like I told you from my fighters. Okay. And this is, i, don’t really have a name for it so what I’m gonna call it today is the ray’s pumping troop. Okay. And this is basically how it works. You stand in a fighter stance, one on my lay hole. Okay. And then, uuum. Basically what we’re gonna do is wham house pits. We’re not gonna kick, We’re gonna do by steps, okay. He is doing one wheel kick. Okay.

Then the next one, he’s gonna do two. One , two. Okay. We’ll bring it down. Then three. One, two, three. Okay. Then four. One , two , three, four. And five. One, two, three, four, five. Okay.
