On the palm strike, we’ll use the reverse hand.

A palm will set the flex the wrists back and bring in the fingers in a thong for safety as you’ll be striking with the palm heel of the wrist. Place it just like a punch. And we can strike. That is a palm strike and next strike we’ll use as a back fist. We’re gonna use the back of the hand to make, to strike the target. We’ll start, like your listening to a watch. So place the back of the wrist under the ear or neck and the strike begins on the top.

And again, pulling out the elbows, we’ll extend the arm at the very end, as usual, twist the wrist. Wanna add some energy in your yells or energy in your techniques. Use you yell.

My name is Steve Nelson. Martial instructor in martial arts. I’m representing expertvillage.com.

Hey. Next area we’re gonna, we’re gonna introduce to you in the class of strikes. In the light hand strike and the hammer fish strike, the palm strike and the back fist. All these strikes that you’re gonna learn in the beginners class. Starting with the light hand strike. First we have to make the fingers completely together. The thumb locked this side. Create a sharp knife edge along the side of the palm.

This hand will go then replace the palm to the ear and neck and we’ll practice for the sake of the back stacks. And then, again this arm will be placed on the top. Elbows together. And we’ll begin the technique by pulling out the elbows and then extend the arms into the technique once again with a twist in the wrists. Striking the target will be a knife hand edge. The hammer fist strike will started in a similar way.

We’ll just set to close the fist and place it to the ear or neck. And then again pull using the elbows first and then into the technique, twist at the wrists.

Purple belt is kind of in between green and blue, it is kind of when you are starting to figure everything out about in your level in martial arts and starting to get a lot more speed, a lot more power, figuring out your movements, trying to do more jumping drills, jumping exercises. And blue belts when you start… this one of our advanced belts, from intermediate to advanced belts, you start doing more advance stuff such as spin kicks, jump kicks and red belts are when we really expect the students to really up their levels, just really start jumping high, kicking hard and moving fast, so that they start showing us, that they get ready close to the black belts.

Now we have two brown belts, one is our second degree and other one is our first degree brown belt. There are kind of much of the same thing, but the difference is a kind of like from white to black belt. So from here you got to show a huge difference to when you get your next brown belt. Then a conditional black belt, this is a kind of there is just a pretest for you when you are ready for your black belt that shows that you are there and you are going to be ready for a testing for your black belt and then of course our last belt is a black belt, our first degree black belt, and it takes about four years to get there and having this belt is like having a degree in college.

So when you become a black belt, it shows that you spend just about the same amount that you would be going to a huge university and you can also get jobs and get paid just as much also if you know how to do…

In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.

I’m Calab Labarda with Tae Kwon Do Limited on behalf of expertvillage.com. Visit our website at tkdarizona.com.

Today we’re going to talk about belts that you will go through as you get up and higher in competition and where you start at. So first of all right here, you started nothing when you started with martial arts. You do not start with the belt, you have to earn everything and then you will have to learn your basic movements such as Chario, Kyoungye, shult, the guards up stuff like that, then you get to earn your white belt. I’m going to say about for each belt for about three months, you beginning belt should be there for about three months, and then you move up to your gold belt.

When you start to learn more like you have kicking techniques, you got to be able to kick above your waist, and have to start moving a little faster and then orange belt, this is more we will certainly getting the idea, you know what you are doing, you start get the movements down.

You start to just really pick it up.

We have to go to the head, so we need to go parallel above the glove and down. Up and it’s just gonna graze. If I go up it’s going to catch here. So what I have to do is get up over the shoulder. Now it’s a lot easier when you angle it in you don’t have to go over the shoulder here. The high round kick.

It’s the sport kick not the round house. So let us get to it.

Ok now the way this kick differs from the roundhouse kick, is this kick is going to come up and turn. Roundhouse kick you’re coming out in a circular motion. Step 1 what you are going to do is lift the knee. Step 2 you’re gonna point your supporting heel towards your target and turn your hip over and make sure your knee and your foot are parallel to the ground. So from here – step 1 – lift, 2 – turn, 3 – kick through, slightly extend, retract the kick and bring it down in front of you.

This foot slightly faces out as you lift the knee. Now the heel will point towards your target lift your body weight up on the ball of the foot and take it forward. Point your heel towards your target and drop. Quickly the steps, lift knee up, hip it – kick, retract. Body weight goes forward. So fast motion. Again fast motion and fast motion. Using high instep or low shin to strike. Here I’m going to lead the knee to the face bring the kick over, snap it back.
