Standing and going like this with your hand out of position – punch for a second – this leaves your face wide open, to a back, fist or anything else. So anyways I slipped to the side use this hand as a check and I get into the rib area.
Now if you’re gonna borrow his energy, if he’s punching real hard you borrow that and he goes right into that. That will collapse the lung, collapse his head and then into the second strike. So just a tip on it. If you still insist on hitting this area you might find the front punch as aggravating and its not quite proficient. Ok if you add the squash method you’ll get the technique well done or if you just take the strike and alter it into the rib area, you’ll find it fits perfect and in a lot of Kenpo techniques when he stretches out with a punch to try to hit you and you dodge out of the way, he’ll stretch right into that, you’ll forward his energy, a little better than down here.
So there’s your tip of the week on combination 3 it’s just altering the strike and altering the target to make it feel better, a better technique in actual combat. And that’ll be your tip for this week.
