Down both flat next to your body towards the left as you move towards your left ok from this position before your feet come off the ground.

A lot of times people starting on Capoeira have a tendency to try to let their feet come off the floor and then put their head down. That’s just a lot more work than you need to do. From there you want to go ahead and put your head on the floor. All my feet, all my hands and my head are on the floor at this point.

Okay once my head is completely on the floor and I’m on my top of the head, not on my forehead, not the back, or the side or any thing like that. You have to make sure you are on the top. From there then I’m going to go ahead and I’m going to take my right foot off the floor, the left foot‘s gonna follow.

I don’t like to – the same as in que au, for me personally I don’t like to get my feet way above my head just because it puts lot more strain on my neck and my head. Okay, so my feet I’ve to just kind of hop them over the front. Okay that puts my leg in between my face and my opponent, in a way which helps protect me a little bit better. Okay then from there your head is down; your hands form a triangle.

Okay your hands are here and as you spin on your head 90 degrees, your hands – my left hand is gonna go where my right hand was and my right hand is going to go off to the side of my left ear. Sorry excuse me, my right ear. Okay from there you’re gonna push back up to the ginga position with your left leg back. Again make sure you’re not doing the cartwheel over the top of your head.

It’s how you injure your neck. You’re doing a 90 degree head spin with your legs kind of going across the front, almost in a cartwheel motion. If you think of it like that it makes it a lot easier and puts a lot less pressure and strain on your neck.

In case you didn’t see the video in part 1 of this series… here it is again.
