To update you, Dan Henderson is a two time US Olympian in Greco Roman wrestling. But that’s not why he is training.
This 36 year old pride fighter and welter weight champion is preparing for the February 24th rematch with Wander lei Silva for the middle weight championship in Pride 33.
“You know the biggest thing over the years in being experienced in in wrestling and fighting is you know that I’ve learned to really listen to my body and when I – when I need a break, I need a break. Kind I let my body recover.”
Henderson has 26 career professional fights winning 21 of those. So he knows what to do and what not to do with his body, so that is why he is attempting to accomplish something that no fighter in any organization has ever done before.
“I hold 2 – 2 belts at the same time, you know there are people there who won 1 belt, lost it, changed weight classes and won another belt. But you know to hold 2 belts at one time and especially beating somebody like Wander lei Silva to do this is probably going to be one of the biggest things ever done in this sport.”
